About the treatment

What is
CryoPen™?

The CryoPen™ is a state-of-the-art cryotherapy device that uses linear compression cooling technology to safely and precisely destroy unwanted skin tissue. Unlike older cryosurgical methods from the 1970s, it doesn't require handling of dangerous cryogenic gases or liquids.

The pen-point precision means only the targeted tissue is treated — reducing the risk of damage to surrounding healthy skin. It's fast, effective and typically requires no anaesthetic.

Treatments are available in 30-minute or one-hour sessions. During a single session, multiple areas can be treated, making it a time-efficient solution for a range of skin concerns.

What happens during
your appointment.

Consultation
We'll discuss the area you'd like treating, check it's suitable for CryoPen™ and talk through the process so you know exactly what to expect.

Treatment
The CryoPen™ is held close to the skin lesion and a fine jet of nitrous oxide is applied. You may feel a mild stinging sensation — most clients find it very tolerable.

Immediately after
The treated area may appear red or slightly raised for a short time. There's minimal downtime — most clients return to normal activities straight away.

Results
The treated tissue will scab and fall away naturally over the following days and weeks. Larger lesions may require more than one session for full clearance.

Most clients describe the sensation as a mild, brief stinging or cold feeling during the application. It's generally very well tolerated and requires no anaesthetic. Any discomfort is brief and subsides quickly after the treatment has been applied.
Many skin lesions — particularly small skin tags and milia — can be fully treated in a single session. Larger or deeper lesions such as warts or verrucas may require 2–3 sessions spaced a few weeks apart. We'll give you a realistic expectation at your consultation.
Minimal. The treated area may be slightly red, raised or itchy for a short period immediately after treatment. A small scab will usually form and fall away naturally over the following 1–3 weeks. You can return to normal activities immediately — though we advise keeping the area clean and avoiding picking or scratching.
CryoPen™ is suitable for a wide range of benign skin lesions. However, it's not appropriate for all skin types or conditions. If you have any concern that a lesion may be malignant, please see your GP before booking. We'll always review the area before proceeding and will not treat anything we're not confident about.
Sessions start from £40 for a 30-minute appointment, during which multiple areas can be treated. A one-hour session is also available. Please check the booking system for current pricing, or contact us if you'd like to discuss your specific requirements before booking.
